It’s important to understand the difference between personal and private property. Many people don’t because capitalist propaganda has gone out of its way to conflate the two.

Personal property is stuff that we all need, want, and have for our own use. Private property is stuff that only capitalists have (land, buildings, factories, mills, stores, etc) so they can extract profit from natural (the Earth) and human (most of us) resources.

seeing everyone just mindlessly sign up for threads despite all the clear warning signs feels like I’m living in Sailor Moon or a magical girl anime episode where the Monster of the Day just set up shop over night and their product is literally draining your lifeforce for the Dark Kingdom but people keep going there

Tumblr reverted some of the asinine app decisions they made after a concerted feedback effort! So make sure to use this form! It’s what it’s for, but it’s not well advertised!

So now we're talking about fair pay and residuals for actors and writers can we start talking about fairer pay and streaming residuals for musicians. Particularly smaller musicians who are locked in unfair contracts and have no control over the licencing and usage of their music. And session artists who work for one day and receive no residuals, no matter how much revenue the music they created generates. And local "booking agents" who capitalise on the market while giving their artists almost none of the money from their ticket sales.
